Nick Watson

Nick has spent the last 25 years specialising in the development, optimisation and leveraging of professional networks.  He began his career as a diplomat focusing on intelligence and security with the British government, where he trained as an Arabist and served in Egypt, Jordan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. On moving to the private sector he became a partner in the professional services firm Hakluyt & Company, which takes a business intelligence-led approach to advising senior decision makers in many of the world’s leading corporates and investment businesses. Between 2011 and 2020, Nick ran Hakluyt’s network, spent three years in Tokyo helping to grow its Japanese client base and latterly ran its Europe, Middle East and Asia business.

In addition to founding TTN, Nick is a director of Othrys Limited, a strategic risk management business, and advises and coaches senior business figures, especially those involved in the Middle East.  He is also a member of the Council of the University of Sussex, its governing body.
